  1. @unhipdruid What do you mean with creepy? Dark and slow? Or does it need to be a bit faster? If you're fine with slow stuff, you may want to check out this excellent free Nine Inch Nails album: http://archive.org/details/nineinchnails_ghosts_I_IV

  2. @unhipdruid Hmm, I only liked the first 40 seconds, being honest. But sad music? Oh, I have so much of that. That, however, reminds me of other stuff. Like this Prose song: http://youtu.be/KFfFl6KEJV8 (he calls it Post-Dubstep, I call it "Good music").

  3. @pony The easiest way to shut down the Internet completely is to force the ISPs to block all connections, but not all ISPs may listen. The easiest way to survive a DNS shutdown is by remembering "8.8.8.8". That's the URL to Google's DNS server. Assuming Google won't have to shut their servers down, you should be able to configure your system to use that as your DNS server (how depends on your OS) and everything should work just fine. I think Tor also uses IP addresses, so if you have Tor installed you should be able to survive by browsing through Tor. You could also use something like Freenet to browse an "alternative" Internet, but how much that would help in such a situation is not clear. In any rate, I'm afraid they'll see you're still using the web and try to hunt you down. I can censor what I visit using Tor, but that doesn't mean I won't generate any traffic at all. I'm not sure how to make sure you're safe in that case.

  4. @pony They only need to shut down the DNS servers to make it impossible for systems to turn URLs (like rainbowdash.net) into their respective IP addresses (like 108.61.19.67). It doesn't really block the Internet, but it's effective enough to lock 99% of the people out, and only have the well-prepared geeks able to use it.

  10. Yesterday, my friend noticed that I fail to sometimes tell reality and dreams apart from each other. Today, he said that's probably because I also listen to songs like this: http://sunglitters.bandcamp.com/track/the-wind-caresses-her-hair-discuss-remix. Does anyone here really believe that my music choice can be even slightly related to this, or is he talking nonsense?

  13. @fortecadenza For Windows/Linux, I only really know LMMS (http://lmms.sourceforge.net/), but I had issues with that myself (could be my setup, as it usually is). For Mac or Linux, Ardour is a really professional choice: http://ardour.org/

  14. @abooky Well, enjoy it while I enjoy my GNUzilla IceCat (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GNU_IceCat). Not to say that Chrome isn't good, it's a really well-made, stable and quick browser, even as a Free Software Hippie I have to admit that :P

  17. @abooky Seeing how Internet Explorer is one of the browsers with the most terrible support for web technology, and RDN does use some semi-new stuff (not only 10 years old stuff) that could explain some of the issues. You should consider giving either Mozilla Firefox (https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/) or Google Chrome (http://www.google.com/chrome/intl/en/landing_chrome.html) a try. There are more, but those two are really good choices and used by a lot of people. I'm not going to promise you it'll fix everything, but there is a fair chance it will.

  19. @chibiterasu I have it with some people, some days worse than others. The hide feature in RDNRefresh helps (http://rainbowdash.net/settings/rdnrefresh), but I understand what you mean. There are enough people here who I manage to anger just by being there. Live and let live, I suppose, you can't get along with everyone.

  21. Well, ▓▒░ TORLEY ░▒▓'s album Glitch Piano is the first 50-song album which hasn't severely disappointed me yet. It's also the first 50-song album I have ever listened to. The weird combination of piano and glitchy electronic stuff is quite enjoyable. If someone is looking into trying something new for three hours, here's the free download: http://music.torley.com/album/glitch-piano # !ccmusic #

  26. @abigpony Ah, Mustard, I forgot about that, yeah. It does have Filters, but It doesn't seem like you can actually block users with it, I think you can only hide posts with certain text. You could consider asking the developer, macno@macno.org, if he could implement that feature. Or someone (you or someone else) could port it and fix it up yourself. Well, I'll just stop talking to you after this message, because I don't expect to actually be helping you much even though I am attempting to.

  29. @theawesomepony Well, that's actually quite an interesting genre. I'm not sure if I can listen to this for long, but it's a nice change from the usual. In a way, it reminds me of Diable Swing Orchestra: http://youtu.be/gsmAF9cVPm4 (I guess the "Swing" part does that, I know there a fair difference, though) :P

  30. @colfax Well, that escalated quickly. At any rate, Wikipedia\cite{https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Faux_meat} seems to agree with my choice of wording though. Fake meat, however, makes it sounds like an inferior product, which I believe it is not.
