Remember when games had a register game.htm file on their install folder?

@ayy Safe snek doesn't boop the windshield

@sampo mondey is just very early fridey

@sarcasmkid Back when I was in elementary school it was usually a big CRT tv and VHS. By highschool presentations used a projector and a laptop.
They do use electronic whiteboard+projector where I'm taking teaching classes now though. -
Also imagine picking fights with 16 year old punks when you're 130 years old and winning. They'll never manage to recover from the shame.

@awg @photophoregirl AWG defeating kanini to defend the independence of smugloli

I think isolation from the affairs of others and hoarding knowledge are the best guarantees to be left alone. Nothing to gain and a lot to lose from taking you out.
-
@awg I don't doubt it's possible. There are documented cases of humans with cells that didn't degenerate after replication. There was a woman in the 50s that had such cells and they're still alive today in labs, after she died of disease decades ago.
Magic or spiritualism might enable it too.
I just want to keep at it, I'm not very interested in afterlife, and the only thing that genuinely scares me is death. Doesn't mean I won't risk my life if I need to or feel it's right, but it's the one thing I want to avoid at almost any cost. 300 years from now I'd like to be in the mansion I've built myself, rejuvenated through gene therapy, and covered in purple silk and gold plated power armor, not having to worry about time and having steady income from enterprises and rent I've acquired over a very long life. I want to curate my own library and hoard knowledge, own research that no one else has and work advising much younger statesmen on how to run things, since extreme age makes people listen to you. That'd be my utopic future. -
@ayy Dogs do that if you let them

@lain Lewd...

@sampo I'd trade you some hot for some cold tbh. Sleeping without multiple blankets sucks.
-
@shpufeff Lots of shrine donations

200 sounds like a reasonable goal considering how medicine is going along and my genes. I'll try for as long as I can though, specially if I manage to get proper life support and robotics tech.
-
@lizzeboof Well, as long as you have no debts to anyone, no one can rightfully deny you the right to decide over your own life.
-
@lizzeboof Oh well yeah in that case you'll probably hate how you look at 40. Point taken.
I'm aiming for 200 lol -
@lizzeboof @sarcasmkid Why wouldn't you? I mean, some people have bad genes that cause them to age terribly, but some have good ones and kept an active lifestlye so they're still in good shape in their late 70s. My grandfather still worked the garden and rode his bike around town at 76 as if he were 60. If not because he caught a disease due to a bugbite he would have probably made it to 90.

Went to see the hero academia movie on saturday. Turned out to be pretty good for an anime movie (which tend to be awful and not fit with the rest of the story) though it deliberately left off a lot of characters that would have made the obstacles the good guys faced really easy to overcome.

@waifu The manufacturer might have an official one on their site.
-
@sarcasmkid After eating anything fibrous like beef.
-
@waifu Probably got scared you'd send it to the phone doctor.
-
@waifu @piggo Depending on the brand/model it might have a power off sequence (specific combination of buttons) to power off clearing all cache. Removing the battery for a few hours does the same.
-
@waifu Well, if it charges when it's turned off it isn't the connector module. It's probably the driver/firmware being ded and not noticing any sort of connection, and since many modern phones have a software switch to avoid killing battery lifetime if they remain plugged when fully charged, it isn't allowing power to the battery when on.
-
@waifu The easiest way to fix if it's software would be migrating user data to another phone (can't to computer since it won't connect through usb) and do a factory reset.
You might be able to find a less invasive fix searching repair forums for that specific model.

-
@waifu What does it do? Does it recognize the charger, or just doesn't show any progress even though it shows as connected?
Have you tried a different power outlet and a different charger/cable? -
-
@dokidoki Yeah but after Rome it was very common until the gunpowder era, since helmets were mostly worn with a cloth coif under them so you could just tie your hair with a string, put the coif on, and it wouldn't be an issue. I have very long hair and it doesn't get in the way if I wear one. It only started being necessary in the era of trench warfare where you'd get so dirty that removing as much hair as possible to make washing yourself easier was ideal. Maybe it came up with the wig craze of the 1700s?
-
Thinking about it, I have no idea where the "men should have short hair" thing came from. The only culture of the old world I can think of where short hair in men was massively prevalent was Rome. There was also Egypt but there they just shaved and wore wigs, and due to the heat it made sense.

@msimagebot It's going to be sad without doki T_T

@dokidoki @why GS etiquette demands you stay up posting for a bit longer after you say you're going to bed.
