  5. @northernnarwhal btw. Sorry I misread those charts. I had it backwards. The U.S. is really murderous for a first world nation. Anyway I guess the topic's been dropped, but I couldn't just not apologize.

  13. @northernnarwhal I see value in addressing differences of values and beliefs. I'm not in any hurry to stop, but I have no intention of pressing the matter as long as others drop it.

  14. @northernnarwhal I never intended to change anyone's mind on the issue.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:46:34 UTC from web in context
  15. @northernnarwhal precisely. It shouldn't be up to the minority to decide unless we simply want to abandon whatever semblance of democracy we have in the U.S.

  16. @northernnarwhal lol you were too fast.

  19. @northernnarwhal At least that's my hope, I mean. Maybe I'm wrong and the majority doesn't usually choose right.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:39:22 UTC from web in context
  20. @northernnarwhal I feel that if the majority clearly wants to make mistakes, those mistakes need to be upheld by the government. More often than not, the majority chooses right.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:38:50 UTC from web in context
  21. @northernnarwhal I'm admitting it's not so cut and dry, yes, and taking away gun protection from responsible citizens isn't the solution to stopping violent murder.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:36:23 UTC from web in context
  22. @critialcloudkicker I don't know the Russian government's ethics so I can't confirm what you've said.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:35:09 UTC from web in context
  23. @northernnarwhal The minority imposing its will on the majority in cases of morals still happens whether for good or bad.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:33:52 UTC from web in context
  24. @northernnarwhal There's no way to know motives for sure, which is why, ideally, we should capture all the (unauthorized) killers, then spend too much money giving them due process, or else simply deter them with the threat of equal retaliation should they attempt to shoot us. If somebody comes onto a scene not knowing who it was that started shooting and why, it's best to leave it to the authorities, but in the case of a serial shooting at a theater or mall or school, the solution is clear.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:31:18 UTC from web in context
  25. @critialcloudkicker I'd be interested in hearing his take on the issue.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:27:11 UTC from web in context
  26. @northernnarwhal Then I'd be inclined to capture them if they can be captured safely and try to reform them. If they can't be reformed then thy stay locked up or, if their crimes are heinous enough, they're ssent to be reformed in the hereafter.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:26:37 UTC from web in context
  27. @critialcloudkicker That argument is wrong of course, but it doesn't mean guns aren't useful for stopping bad guys.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:25:13 UTC from web in context
  28. @scoot alright.

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:23:22 UTC from web in context
  29. @northernnarwhal Oh now we're getting into motives.. Can I say, "want to kill people for selfish reasons?"

Friday, 11-Jul-14 15:22:06 UTC from web in context
  30. @scoot then that was a rash decision.
