@scoot worst case scenario I still offer £9,000 to the one who kills me
-
@scoot wear a shirt reading, crudely, "i am an artist" and let them know.
-
@scoot Recognition, yes. Exposure, no.
-
@scoot and pay rent!
-
@scoot you'll be paid in recognition
-
@scoot I don't know how one could do this for 3 minutes but something along the lines of showing what happened to Gregor Samsa the night before he woke up a "monster".
-
@scoot You're telling me
-
@scoot But perhaps more rewarding as a result
-
@scoot Maybe a short film where a reclusive character has trouble making friends and socializing but takes solace in looking out to the stars every night through their telescope, and at the climax we see them look into their telescope, cry, smile, then we hard cut a parallel shot of an "alien" character doing the exact same thing, with both finally realizing neither are really alone in the universe.
-
@scoot It IS very Duck Amuck! I thought of it for a film studies project back in college. Shortly afterwards I realised the inspiration was that bit of "Forest of the Dead" where Donna Noble mind is stuck in a computer and she keeps recognising the jump cuts.

@scoot Man erotically transforms into a toucan for 3 minutes
-
@scoot A baby is crying. Superimposed on the scene is stock footage of what should be joyous, happy things. The baby continues to cry as the footage changes. Birthdays. Disneyland. Sunsets. At the end, the imagery switches to tragedy and horror. The baby smiles.

@scoot I knew it
-
@scoot that's hilarious
-
@scoot Grainy, man wakes up, Realizes he doesn't have an idea for a film yet... He goes through hilarious hurdles just to get one.
Filled with TV Tropes -
@scoot Main character suddenly becomes aware of non-diegetic filmic elements e.g. soundtrack, jump cuts
-
@scoot well darn
-
@scoot I get a lot of video ideas from songs so if you haven't ventured there maybe it's worth a gander x
-
@scoot what are the criteria
-
@scoot Do that thing with the "I've called you here today because one of you . . . IS A MURDERER!" And then someone gets up and bolts all guilty-like and everyone's like "Wow I never expected that from Dave" and the main person is just "Wait, no, it wasn't them, it was me!" And the lights go out and people scream.
But, you know, dragged out for 300x the length of the Vine it probably deserves to be. -
@scoot I had the idea in my head for ages due to a song and it's been rattling there, might as well be put to use by some talented bugger
-
@scoot a guy vandalises a decrepit building and then sets himself on fire, it is ambiguous as to whether he meant to or not
-
@scoot Did you draw this in SAI? Can ya post a screenshot of the brush settings if so? I love the way it looks. http://rainbowdash.net/url/827453
-
@scoot ...rushed and rough, obviously but I thought I'd give it a shot. http://rainbowdash.net/url/827450
-
@scoot I'm trying to see if I can draw like you, but looking at your Tumblr there's just so much more variation so I can't pick one style out, haha.
-
@scoot You actually made me wanna see if I could still draw in my horrible pre-tablet style, circa ~2009-2010. Turns out I still can. I dunno if having the Cintiq makes it easier or harder to intentionally draw poorly. http://rainbowdash.net/url/827446
-
@scoot Yeah, just about. I tend to round out my faces though, as Oracle once upon a time ago so kindly pointed out. I dunno why. I just like the way it looks.
-
@scoot Oh wow
-
@scoot i.. don't have that
-
@scoot It's completely appreciated, believe me. I want to get good at this so that I can animate it and animate it well.
