@derpy It's nothing to be afraid of. It sucks, but that wears off fairly quickly. Just try not to eat or drink anything beforehand, and don't blow your nose with anything that was in your pocket when you went in.

@rotation Sounds like the sort of thing that you might find in California. The only thing that I can think of is a turning lane, and I'm fairly sure that's not what you're referring to.

@thelastgherkin I think I can count on one hand the number of yield signs I know of within 20 minutes of my house, and the closest traffic circle I'm aware of is about an hour away. It's heavily signed and marked, and people still manage to get confused by it.

@thelastgherkin Yes... well, as long as there's no vehicles coming, and no pedestrians, and there's no sign prohibiting it. I think if not for the right-on-red, traffic would get all jammed up in some places. You do have a lot more yield signs and traffic circles in the UK though, which would probably help move things along similarly.
