If you want to post a nice photo or image, fine. But if you want to say something or you like to quote someone, please use text. I.e. a string of unicode characters forming words. Not images. Text usually needs much less bandwidth. Text can be read aloud by software for visually impaired people. Text can be magnified. Text can be searched. Text can be copied and pasted. Text can be quoted. Text works in non-graphical programs. Text rules. Thank you!

@mcscx @thelovebug As with other #socnets, who you are connected to affects your perception of usage levels. My #Diaspora timeline isn't super busy, but it is adequate. Still, I'd love to see more interfederation between D, #GS, #Friendica, #Pump.io and even #movim and #buddycloud

Meine vier Serviceaccounts erfreuen sich auch einer stetig wachsenden Beliebtheit.
Da wäre @Arte Plus 7 (inoffiziell), damit ihr immer mitbekommt was #Arte für coolen #Scheiß in der #Mediathek hat.
Dann @earthquake, damit ihr von jedem #Erdbeben erfahrt, noch bevor es in den Medien ankommt.
Auch @Guten_Morgen ist nicht zu unterschätzen, dass ist die #Kaffee am #Morgen Gruppe, da könnt ihr lauter nette Leute kennenlernen und in einem Zuge am Morgen begrüssen.
Dann wäre da noch @Piratenpartei News (NRW) für die geballte Ladung an Information rund um die #Piraten mit Schwerpunkt #NRW.
Ich freue mich natürlich über noch mehr Nutzer in #Diaspora, #GnuSocial, #Friendica, #Hubzilla und #Statusnet die Accounts abonnieren. #Danke. -

@clacke et al More accurately, #Pump.io was created to require fewer resources than #StatusNet. Very successful at that. #Federation is there, but still requires workarounds, so I'm not sure it improved.
Still, I'd support more #federated networks over more centralized networks. #GNUsocial, Pump, #Diaspora, #Libertree, etc -

I wonder if rainbowdash.net is one of the larger iterations of #GNUSocial in use. GNU Social seems more mature than #Diaspora and #Friendica. I'm a heavy Facebook/Twitter user who is open to alternative, more federated networks.

Getting there... cross-platform federation is currently experimental, but the possibility of having both #Friendica and #Hubzilla support talking to #GNUsocial is a pretty huge deal. It's by no means a perfect match-up, as #diaspora itself doesn't yet have the compatibility. Still we may be witnessing the beginning of 4-5 different platforms being able to interconnect together.
