  4. @morph OK, that seems to have worked (in spite of buglet in remote group subscription) - I'm now a member of the new !beer group. Still annoyed by the fact that the listing of the groups you're a member of appears in no particular order (i.e., likely DB physical order); didn't anyone figure that an 'ORDER BY' clause would be a good idea for user interfaces? !grrr

  5. @mcscx so does google's 'shortener' :D and, I guess, many others - they just don't check the resulting size against the original's

  7. @mk it seems that happens to the legends only when the fieldset is set to display:table - when it isn't legends appear at the 'normal' place for legends. so, just a stupid layout bug # # # #

  8. arrgh - Opera does strange things to my forms (and I'm not willing to spend very much time on it - I see no reason to accept that pushing a legend inside the fieldset border is 'normal' - especially when Chromium does no such thing) !grrr

  14. !grrr I hate Chromium. when I closed it just now, memory uses goes from 96% to just 13% (of 16Gb)... Firefox has never used so much memory for a similar amount of open tabs - yes many tabs, but that's not the point

  15. @mk I *finally* figured out what ages-old syntax to use to set and modify variables in 4-year old Smarty :( now for the real test... #! I've had enough for today !grrr

    Monday, 21-Oct-13 23:01:09 UTC from oracle.skilledtests.com
  16. !grrr struggling with a seemingly very old version of Smarty - I remember a lot but all sorts of things I remember _should_ work, don't :( Writing logic to test if something's in an array, instead of being able to use in_array() function, etc.

  17. @mk Well, at least I'm learning fast how # works - and it's quite "hackable", with good code structure, clear code and lots of comments. So, I'm actually having fun tweaking it to do my bidding :D #

    Monday, 21-Oct-13 16:30:55 UTC from oracle.skilledtests.com
  18. phew. I spent half a day trying to trace in # (of which I barely know the code structure) why/where an EXIF date was so oddly formatted; turns out the plugin that should do this dates from 2007, and refers to a piwigo bug as reason to NOT use the formatting function at all; this bug was fixed in 2010. !grrr #

  27. @mcscx I mean that I only tried that because using the same password for both (while not giving an error when checked) also did allow me to send mail. What other options are there?

    Wednesday, 09-Oct-13 17:10:40 UTC from oracle.skilledtests.com
  28. meanwhile, I *finally* succeeded in setting my own 'header image' in Twitter. No word from T Support about why it didn't succeed at first (tried with both Chromium and Opera, so it's not the browser); this time, I made a new image. No idea why that works and the other didn't. !grrr

  29. @mcscx Yes, I tried both the password I had just created and used for IMAP, and I also tried creating yet another app-specific password for SMTP. The first is accepted, the second is not. Regardless, I cannot send mail from K9. :( Gave up trying and used Thunderbird. But I really want K9 to work, too!
