  1. One of my angriest thoughts after my cousin's suicide was, "God damn it, now I can't kill myself because everyone will be even more traumatized and instead of "Oh no, so terrible"
it'd be "Why God why does this keep happening to us?" and I was kind of bananaing bitter about it. Like, you have a hot girlfriend and a wonderful three year old daughter, and that's not worth sticking around for? Fluffle Puff you and the pale horse you rode out on. First order of business in the Hereafter is me kicking his gorram ass.

  2. @pvs Just remembered, you must watch this series if you haven't already: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NgN7z0SD8v8 Not a thing happens that doesn't propel the plot or reveal character, as # might say. The pace is deceptively leisurely.

  8. # # : I am appalled to see this weekend's Mawbima running a half-page section with astrological nonsense on possible future floods, landslides and natural disasters. It features four astrologers predicting various disasters in the near future. The same section of the paper has news reports about flood and landslide victims alongside an advertisement about houses for sale in "flood-free" areas by one of the biggest housing companies. There is not a single word that explains what happened and what is likely to happen from a scientific view point!

  12. # :-) @Gnome was the first GNU/Linux desktop I used when I installed a free operating system for the first time in 2005. After so many years and a myriad of changes, it continues to be the main desktop I use. I thought I would never touch it again when I saw # but I was wrong. I kept returning to it and found it the most helpful desktop when I was having # problems; Gnome3 absolutely minimizes the number of mouse clicks and hand movements. I can do everything from the keyboard without causing extreme repetitive stress. I wanted to highlight this aspect today, because some people tend to see it only as something "designed with touchscreens (not desktops) in mind"; they are wrong. Gnome works perfectly for those who want to get things done efficiently. Gnome is the future. Thanks !Gnome :-)

Gnome turns 18 today. Read and share more at http://ur1.ca/nfld3 and
