Dark Souls, a great game with a big challenge factor to it, and a huge sense of reward when you do well in the game because of said challenge factor...but dammit, challenge or no challenge you should be able to PAUSE the bloody thing. >< Them disabling the ability to pause it is just taking it too far, I hate having to quit to ensure I don't get owned if I look away from the game. One of the few problems I have with it really. !vgp

Time for some video game related ramblings, methinks. I've been playing a lot of Assassin's Creed: Revelations and Rayman Origins (the two main games I got for Christmas, I do have others I'm working on, but still) Revelations has been a lot of fun thus far, it hasn't left the impression on me that Assassin's Creed II did, but it's a lot better than Brotherhood (which was a damn good game, don't get me wrong, but it is my least favourite of the Ezio story arc, the first is my least favourite overall though) the story is especially engaging, but I need to beat it before properly comparing it to that of other games in the series. As for Rayman Origins...well, I don't really have more to say other than it's sheer brilliance, an instant classic etc. One of the most beautiful games I have ever seen, it controls like a dream etc. I do wish they hadn't ditched the origins story and kept the name "Origins" but it's my only issue with it, and it's a nitpick at best. !vgp

!vgp So, idle thoughts. We had Crash games through Warped, and then Crash Team Racing. We had three Jak games, and then Jak X. We've had three Uncharted games so far. Naughty Dog is obviously working on an Uncharted kart racer.

I just realised, wasn't Rayman Origins supposed to detail Rayman's origins from a narrative standpoint, hence the title? WTF happened to that? o.O It's completely absent from the final product, which has virtually no so story to speak of. Don't get me wrong, it's a fantastic game, but I just find the "Origins" title a bit baffling when it isn't even ABOUT his origins. I think Sonic Generations may have had more of a story, and that's saying something. !vgp

Playing MW3 (rental) it's a fun enough game, but I am glad I didn't buy it, as a £40+ full price purchase I'd have been let down. !vgp

Playing Assassin's Creed: Revelations, not gonna lie, I'm already enjoying this a lot more than Brotherhood, not sure about II though. I would say I've enjoyed it more than the original, but that goes without saying I suppose. !vgp

@thatonepony !vgp The universes are canonically connected, and we don't really know how much time Chell was trapped in Aperture Science. It actually looks like they're pushing to link up the two storylines; whether that includes characters is completely up to speculation.

It's not even the new year and I've already beaten all the games I got for Christmas. Not only that, but I found time to beat the copy of Spyro 2 I've had sitting around for months. I might be getting too good at these. !vgp

After numerous attempts, I have finally beaten the 150cc Lightning Cup on Mario Kart 7. Came 1st every race too xD Didn't expect that. Now all I have to do is beat the Special Cup and I have all of the characters :) !vgp

Back from the high street. My brother had to exchange a bunch of euros for pounds and I got Sonic Generations for £30 from GAME using vouchers I got for Christmas. This is the first Sonic platform game I have owned since Sonic Rush (I think), so it will be nice to get back into it again. !vgp !sonic
