  2. @mrdragon Is that what the kids are calling it these days?

  4. @menestrel Don't suppose you could summarize or point to other references for those of us without access to this magazine?

  5. @ceruleanspark It's one of those flat "desktop" cases.

  6. Attempting to install a RAM upgrade in somebody else's OEM system has reminded me why I *never* buy or recommend buying OEM systems. The case is designed to *specifically* hinder access to the RAM. You have to remove about half of the hardware and several tiny non-standard screws just to get at it. Don't ever buy a Lenovo.

  7. @snowcone Seems like every other fandom to me. More so by the day.

  8. @neurario Other subscribers who aren't using gmail may not be so lucky.

  9. @neurario gmail at least stuffs them all into the same "conversation" so there wasn't any spamminess for me.

  11. @widget It's been many years since I've used or even paid attention to it, so I don't know what it's got these days.

  13. @widget It has a livecd installer if that's what you mean. But it's no Knoppix, it's just for installing the OS.

  14. @widget If a user knows enough to strip X and related packages out of a debian install disk, then they know more than enough to figure out Slackware. Also, as far as "new users" go? Slackware was my second distro and I started using it literally two weeks after I first started using Linux at all (those first two weeks being on Knoppix). So it's actually pretty easy for new users!

Thursday, 31-Jan-13 03:55:48 UTC from web in context
  15. @widget Or just install Slackware. It's pretty easy to not install X with it because it just gives you the option.

  16. @minti I will do my best to remember that!

  19. What. Why did that activate bold on my post but not on @minti's? For a second there I was fooled into believing it had actually been turned off finally!

  22. So, I am eating this right now. It tastes pretty great. Y'all should try it yourselves sometime http://dpaste.com/hold/901474/ I'm told it's really cheap, altogether the ingredients cost around five bucks and it makes six servings.

  23. @colfax While that reddit post was never confirmed as legitimate, I don't recall it ever being debunked as such either. It's starting to sound a lot more factual as the season draws to a close… but I am going to keep a wait and see attitude for the finale, because the synopsis of that episode tells me something else is going on here. There's just too much we still don't know.

  25. @redenchilada I haven't listened to any of those files in weeks. This was something that occurred long before that thread was ever made, back when season 2 was still airing new episodes.

  29. @neurario AMD's site wouldn't have it. Each chip can be sold with a variable amount of ram depending on the card manufacturer, up to some limit set by the chip.

Wednesday, 30-Jan-13 06:43:09 UTC from web in context
  30. @neurario The card might have more memory than that and just be getting detected incorrectly somehow. You should verify exactly how much your card has with the product specifications.
