@bobo I think an important caveat to acknowledge in criticism of any kind is that your opinion is in no way more inherently valuable than that of anyone else's, it's just that in order for your opinion to be valuable to anyone besides yourself you need to explain your reasoning constructively.

@bobo I guess with me it comes down to how I engage with my media. I (like any other person) obviously evaluate media with all my biases and priorities in mind, but in that sense I don't really view media as an extension of my self being but more an extension of said biases and priorities, which in turn extend from my own values and ideals as a person. I definitely also support the transformative power of art, in the sense that art has the capability to facilitate critical analysis of ourselves as people and the worldviews we bring to art.

@bobo I just try not to align my media preference with my personal identity, but that can lead to very misguided media engagement

@bobo Yeah, I've had some pretty intense fundamental changes in my worldview in the past year.

@bobo I still use Tumblr fairly frequently, though I only occasionally browse Reddit infrequently. I've stopped using 4chan entirely.
