90% of my english 111 class did not understand me when I said that fairy tales generally have a strict adherence to character archetypes. It took the professor about 5 minutes to explain it and even then, most of them didn't actually understand what we were saying.

@zach121k Even when given examples and pretty much drew a diagram on the board comparing different characters and what archetypes they filled, THEY STILL DIDN'T GET IT. /rage

@alma I completely agree with you though. There are standards that most characters can be grouped into.

@zach121k Thankfully the people that DID understand happened to share my bio lab (which is the class after eng111). They ended up as my lab partners too.

@zach121k I don't remember the specific archetypes myself that well, but I understand what they are and their relevance to literature.
