  1. I can't sleep...I really can't get to bloody sleep. If it were like this every night I'd honestly rather be deaf.

    2. @leonkfox The one thing that's kept me from popping my own eardrums to get some peace if the fear that if I did that I'd probably still hear the ringing, but then that would be -all- that I'd hear...

    3. @leonkfox if you haven't... you can try to have some white noise or ocean sounds or whale songs in the background.

      1. @twilightsparkles I've done that sort of thing, heck I have been for years. I have a fan right behind my head where I sleep, normally that works WONDERS. But colds seem to amplify it, cause a great amount of pressure in my ear, and make it worse than usual. Even with headphones pouring white noise into my ear and the fan ,the pressure makes sure I am all to aware of the fact I have tinnitus when normally the fan alone lets me escape it, and get to sleep. Seriously, if it were like this every night I would desperatley seek surgery to intentionally deafen myself.

    4. @leonkfox A doctor I know suggested upping my zinc intake to help with it, but I haven't been able to try it yet since they like you to pay for that sort of thing at the store.

      1. @colfax If I may ask, what is zinc?

        1. @leonkfox It's a mineral you get in vitamin supplements, not sure how it helps with tinnitis though.

          1. @colfax I've looked up treatments numerous times, and I don't know ,none of them seem consistently reliable. My initial thought was surgery ,but I've heard reports that could potentially make it WORSE. If I had it like I do tonight every night (or worse) I am pretty certain I would end up killing myself just to escape it.

            1. @leonkfox Well, when mine gets too bad I just get the voices arguing or singing and they manage to drown it out, turns out most of the voices in my head like Winter Wrap-up...

              1. @colfax I dunno, nothing seems to be working for me tonight. I feel a bit of pain as well ,no doubt related to pressure from the cold. I never thought a simple cold could cause me so much grief.

                1. @leonkfox You really should go see a specialist about it, just cruising the internet looking for solutions wont do you any good.

                  1. @colfax I guess. I can't recall if I've been before or not. The thing is though, I already know there's no cure :/

                2. @leonkfox Looked up tinnitus, and I must say you have my sympathies. It sounds like a right nasty condition. Any idea what caused/causing it?
