@leonkfox (The Flyer runs a skinned version of 2.3 with no plans to upgrade) My point is Motorola, Samsung and HTC have a different end goal to Amazon in the market. They want to sell you a tablet. Then another tablet. Amazon sees the Fire as a storefront through which they can sell you other crap. Amazon has a vested interest in keeping every Fire running as long as possible so they can sell you more crap with it.

@ceruleanspark Hmm...that does sound like a better way of handling a tablet, and it's 7" as well (perfect size for a tablet IMO) I may look into this some more!

@leonkfox I used to have a 7 inch Android device. It's a nice form factor. With the Playbooks hardware and Amazon's engineering behind it, it's going to be an iPad caliber device at less than half the price of the iPad

@ceruleanspark That's a tablet I might actually consider buying, if the 3G data plans aren't too expensive.
