If a pony was born blind, would it impact their cutie mark? Surely if they have no concept of vision, how can they have a concept of iconography?
-
@ceruleanspark #ooc They just would have talent that doesn't requires the ability to see.

@stormyhugeheart It's more like "When someone who is born blind dreams, do they see things?"
-
@ceruleanspark Oh I see they couldn't see there cutie mark.

@thatonehuman Maybe it'd be in braille.
-
@ceruleanspark That would depend if the cutie mark is affected by the pony itself or it's some outside force. In the case that it's an outside force, if the blind pony still found their destiny, it'd show up normally. If it was dependent on the pony's image of what their destiny embodied it'd probably look distorted depending on how accurately the pony visualized it.

@fallinwinter If you have a messed up visual cortex you can't visualise at all. You are missing the entire concept of "image"
-
@ceruleanspark I'm sure I did. I can't say I am well learned in the goings on in the brain and what they do and what have you.

@fallinwinter You're blind? Eye blind or brain blind?
-
@ceruleanspark Not sure if joking or serious. If you're serious, I'm not blind at all. Just saying that I haven't learned much about the brian and the way sight and other things function.

@fallinwinter Oh, when you said "I did" I thought you meant "I am blind but I still have a concept of image". Sorry for the misunderstanding. I'm by no means a neuroscience expert, but it's a really strong interest of mine. I guess because they're so like, and yet different from, a computer.

@fallinwinter Realistically I suspect it IS an outside force that defines them. Twilight THOUGHT hers was about magic, but it's pretty clearly about the Elements of Harmony.
