Well, I guess there was ONE plus side to the hard reset of my phone yesterday (was trying to fix some problems and it didn't work, read more about it here http://ur1.ca/5bsda) it's made my phone run lightning smooth, in a way it didn't even when setting it up for the very first time. Still kiwied that I can't play Mega Drive games or use any video application besides htc's though. -__- !androidbronies !techponies

@redflash I did mention at the end of the original notice (linked to it) that rooting may be my only chance of getting the issues tully ironed out, I'm nervous that I'd bugger something up though.

@leonkfox It's worth pointing out that there are two types of wipe you can do. The "in-software" wipe you already did from the menu, and the "My phone won't even turn on anymore" wipe, which is more thorough. You could try the second kind of wipe.

@ceruleanspark How do you do the second kind of wipe though? Outside of hacking/rooting the only way I was aware of was the in menu one that you just mentioned.

@leonkfox Au contraire my friend. HTC hath provided: To access the "Pre-Boot Menu", turn the phone off, then when booting it back up, hold power and volume-down until you get the safe mode menu. You'll have 4 options. "Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock". Navigate down to "Clear Storage" with the volume key, and press power to confirm. You'll be asked to confirm again by pressing volume up for yes, and volume down for no. It will then do a complete reset, the same way HTC would if you sent it to them post-bricking.

@rotation ...Rockplayer? ^^; Never heard of an application like that before. I posted a link to a notice I posted going over the full details of my problems with the phone. I thought doing a total factory reset would fix them, but it didn't. :(
