@hoit21 "Assistant medical technician" at a blood clinic. Basically it means I take blood, put it in centrifuges, and write e-mails. Fun stuff.

@everypony I've seen experienced medical staff take 5 tries to find a vein, and watched someone cock up a chelation test last time I gave blood, so it's not like that everywhere.

@everypony My girlfriends mother is currently long term hospitalised. Considering she is in a "pay for treatment or die" situation, seeing the bills made me murderously angry.

@everypony It was the small things that offended me. She's hemiparalysed, so she can't go anywhere, but they bill her $12 a day to watch TV in her bed.

@rotation As well as to be expected. It's been nearly a year since her mother has been at home now. I'm doing my best to make sure she's as happy as she can be, but I don't really think anything I do or say can fix that feeling.

@ceruleanspark No grapes? Well, that's one thing we don't do! T.V. is free in the hospitals here, but it's things like the drugs. They charge so much for things anyone reasonably good at chemistry could make in a couple hours and twenty bucks worth of supplies!
