  1. !vancouverbronies @redtie that would be perfect if the other Vancover Bronies dont mind spending the cash for meals. Hell if possible going to a nice bar or pub would be cool. (not sure if you're all old enough though)

    1. @redtie I'm down, personally, though I think we do have some people who aren't of age.

      1. @tequilasunrise that's the thing I dont want to exclude anypony. maybe a resturant that sells booze. that could work.

        1. @redtie Yeah, that's more or less what I was thinking too.

          1. @tequilasunrise Also about your fanfic. Its got an issue called "talking heads". (don't worry everyone deals with that problem. I used to do it all the time) Basically when you have a scene with two characters talking...and its all they do really. A suggestion would be to try and show aspects of a characters personality or intention without the character speaking. "Show, don't tell"

          2. @tequilasunrise also sorry for taking so long to do that.

            1. @redtie No prob. And yeah, I do that for sure. I'm working on a significant rewrite of the first part and just about have the second part done so hopefully I'll have something to show in a couple weeks. Thanks for reading and giving feedback; I appreciate it.

              1. @tequilasunrise as a fellow writer I know that feel. I find that a good way to cheat the "show dont tell" is that if you have two characters stuck in a room talking. have one just start doing something. Anything. usually the first thing that comes to your mind will be an action that fits that characters personality.

                1. @redtie That's a good thought. Yeah, show don't tell was one of the things I had in mind with the rewrite, but I still feel like there isn't enough happening in the dialogue scenes.

                  1. @tequilasunrise quick tip. What does your character want? and what do they NEED? those two different things will help cause struggle and help you write.

                    1. @redtie "The want-it-need-it spell!" Sorry, couldn't resist. Yeah, I feel like SN and ES need a bit more personality but I really want this story to be more about Luna and less about my random OCs, so I'm having trouble getting the appropriate balance there.

                      1. @tequilasunrise dont over think personality. A characters personality is shown simply in the way they react to trying to get what they want, and how they eventually find out what they truly need.

                        1. @redtie Yeah, I'm going to get the second part down, give it a couple passes, then get some feedback. I'd like it to be as good as it could be but I don't want to overthink it, either.

      1. @tigerdusk !vancouverbronies Good reminder. We'll hit up the mall after we're done bowlin'. Do you know if there's any decent parking at the bowling alley?

        1. @bronymike !vancouverbronies mmm there is parking... sometimes it's full sometimes it isn't and since it is heading towards busy season (i used to work there so i know) it could be 60% chance of being full. Umm if any body does bring a car they'll have to pay for the ticket to park their car (kinda sucks I know). Umm and the mall just to let every pony know closes at 6 pm on sundays.

        2. !vancouverbronies @bronymike From what I've seen from passing by the place on skytrain, there appears to be plenty of parking. Don't quote me on that though.
