    1. @rotation First one.

    2. @seanthebluesheep You mean "Åk"? "Go", like "Åk bil" - "Go by car", or "Åk till stan" - "Go to town".

      1. @flaxx Yeah, that. It got used as "abscond" and I wasn't sure if that was a synonym or if Swedish actually had such a laconic word for that.

        1. @seanthebluesheep Nah, "åka" isn't very sophisticated at all. It's very casual.

          1. @flaxx Yeah, it's just synonymous. Oh well.

          2. @flaxx Also, the circle makes it a long a, like when the dentist makes you say aah, right?

            1. @seanthebluesheep Hm... I suck at explaining how letters sound, but it kinda sounds like the "oa-" in "oar".

              1. @flaxx ah, OK.

                1. @seanthebluesheep I guess you could say it's kind of like a mix of a and o, if that makes any sense.

                  1. @flaxx I'm now sat here on my bed going "Oa... Aoh... Oah..." trying to sound it right.

                    1. @seanthebluesheep Haha, sorry if my explanations confuse you. I really suck at this. :P

                      1. @flaxx No, you're helping. I'm just wondering how it sounds.

                        1. @seanthebluesheep Heh, yeah, I just kinda suck at explaining things like this. I've tried it before, and it never really works out well. It's way easier when you can actually talk to the other person face to face, instead of text.

                          1. @flaxx Yeah. Sadly, I have no method of doing that because I need to reinstall Ubuntu but haven't gotten around to it yet.

                              1. @flaxx Not exactly. I get the idea though, if you mean the funny looking letters at the beginning of Wikipedia articles

                                1. @seanthebluesheep Yeah, those things that represents sounds. I used to know them, but I've forgotten most of it. I was just thinking, 'cause I know there's a list of the Swedish alphabet with phonetics and everything on Wikipedia. So perhaps that could help, if you'd known phonetics.

                                  1. @flaxx I'll look it out. Right now though, my mind has just been blown by the difference between kit and skill.
