@problemedpony It's a game buying platform I never really liked, but started using after cerulean gave me a game, so it was only polite to install it and try it.

@nerthos @problemedpony More accurately, a digital distribution platform ran by Valve, makers of Half-Life, Team Fortress 2 n' stuff. I love it...so many games on there.

@communistprime That's the good part. The bad part, and why I never used it before, is because it wants to always run and link itself with every game in the HDD, and you need credit card/paypal to buy the games.

@nerthos Nah, not every game on the HDD, just the ones you download using it. You can add additional non-Steam programs, but it won't try and add them for you.

@communistprime I had Dark Messiah of Might and Magic in the HDD, installed Steam, and the program automatically linked it and changed it to spanish. 20 minutes trying to unbind it, until I gave up. I usually crack games so I can run them without Steam, like I did with Skyrim.

@communistprime No, I don't usually pirate things from steam. But I pirate thing downloaded FROM Steam to be able to play them without running Steam at the same time. Now I don't need to, since Skyrim at full graphics uses only around 40% of the CPU, but in the old PC the resources Steam used were much needed to run the games.
