I tell you, though, this whole idea floating around of Lunar Republic and Solar Empire is fun to play with, and it really makes me want to run some sort of space opera game centered around those lines. Ponies in starfighters!

@patch Lol. I try to write for it, as a Fanfic writer myself. It sure is hard, because if it isn't canon you have to make it all up.

@thetwilitebrony0vinylscratchrecollor That's the fun part! The canon stuff can act as a seed. The key, I think, is to try to find the cores of the characters, and determine, as well you can, how they would act in different scenarios. That's what I've always liked about alternate universe type stories.

@technopony0vinylscratchrecollor I do like creating characters. This fandom has got be back into writing, which feels good and is frustrating at the same time.

@patch I know what you mean. It is hard sometimes to put the story into words, or come up with good descriptions, but the hardest part for me is having good ideas when I'm actually NEAR a computer or paper.

@patch That's why word for word crossover fanfics are a pet peeve of mine. A good crossover fic utilizes the concepts of the two franchises and builds their own story around those concepts instead of using the same story and making the character ponies.

@technopony0vinylscratchrecollor Which one? David Tennant is kind of like Pinkie Pie with a little more wit, more curious, and a hint of sarcasm thrown in. At least as best as I can describe him.

@fallinwinter He is a very complex character, this Doctor. I could spend a dozen lifetimes just trying to figure him out just so I could TYPE him and insert him into my stories.

@technopony0vinylscratchrecollor The way I see it, he's complicated mostly because he's such a wild card like pinkie and acts very differently depending on the situation sometimes to the point of acting like a different person.

@patch Its difficult to a point. It just depends on the franchises you want to crossover and how you try going about it.

@fallinwinter No doubt. For my part, character voice is one of my numerous weak points as a writer, and I think crossover fiction depends strongly on making the characters act and speak in an authentic way.

@thetwilitebrony0vinylscratchrecollor Its practically necessary for anything that isn't a slice of life fanfic since you can only have so many settings and concepts that are both canon as well as necessary in the other type of genres.

@patch I'd personally prefer a medieval take on the whole thing with rebellion and assassinations and whatnot. Though a space version would give me reason to play a The Old Republic type of pony MMORPG
