  1. I'm still not good with buying MLP products when it comes to being self concious :/ Stood right by the blind bags in my local ASDA atm.

    1. @leonkfox Go to Morrison's instead? The ones near me are quieter than Asda.

      1. @rotation There wasn't a Morrisons in the area I was in, and I bought them in ASDA anyway...eventually. ^^;

    2. @leonkfox ASDA have blind bags? If they hadn't fired me in a transphobic way, I'd be all over them D: Here's hoping Tesco get them.

      1. @stereosounds How exactly does one get fired in a transphobic way?

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:05:04 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
      2. @stereosounds Tesco will do mini singles: Blindbags in different packaging. Problem with that is that they only have 5 ponies available. Try Morrisons?

        1. @rotation Morrisons it is! I've got all the singles available from Tesco now, unfortunately. Mainly because they stocked a four-pack for ages.

          1. @stereosounds Morrisons is also the cheapest, only asking £1.70 per pony.

            1. @rotation Oh sweet, that's fantastic.

              1. @stereosounds I don't know where exactly you are, but if your Morrisons is about the same size as the one on Ferry Road, you should be fine.

                1. @rotation There's a Morrisons large enough to have a proper deli counter just up the road from me, so I'm going to go have a look when I get home tomorrow!

                2. @rotation Thanks for the help :D

      3. @stereosounds Yeah, some ASDA's do anyway, the closest one to me does. Sorry to hear about your experience with them though :/

              1. @luna4life Well I'm headed to the Games Workshop that I always go to by bus, so I'll obviously be posting about it a bit later :P (It takes about an hour to get to the shopping center it's based in)

    3. @leonkfox Self-service checkouts?

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:04:08 UTC from web
      1. @ecmc1093 Blindbags are too light for the scale. They just get stuck on "Place the item in the bagging area"

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:05:39 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
        1. @ceruleanspark I didn't have a problem getting a boxed mini Applejack at Tesco, but the functionality of self-checkouts probably varies by store; some are very quick and convenient, while others are more trouble than they're worth.

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:09:53 UTC from web
          1. @ecmc1093 The boxes weigh more than the the bags.

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:10:47 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
            1. @ceruleanspark Maybe, a TINY bit. I wouldn't have thought it was a recognisable difference for the scale thing. And I thought there was an "I'm using my own bag" option to skip that part anyway?

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:16:16 UTC from web
      2. @ecmc1093 The blind bags seem to be too light to work on them properly, making the process take longer than it would be to use a standard checkout, which is what I ended up doing.

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:45:32 UTC from MuSTArDroid
        1. @leonkfox @ecmc1093 HAH.

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:46:29 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
          1. @ceruleanspark What? ^^;

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:48:34 UTC from MuSTArDroid
            1. @leonkfox He expressed doubt when I said they were too light for the scales.

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:49:34 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
              1. @ceruleanspark Ah, I see, can't say I've seen the conversation, so sorry about that. :P

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:53:52 UTC from MuSTArDroid
    4. @leonkfox Also, don't feel weird about it. I can't think of anyone who would care about someone going through their till with My Little Pony toys, or would really pay attention to someone in a supermarket buying them. If you're older, most people tend to assume you're not buying them for yourself anyway.

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:04:27 UTC from web
    5. @stereosounds Sounds like discrimination to me.

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:09:04 UTC from web
    6. @stereosounds Oh, so it's more like they fired you because of other people being transphobic, rather than a policy of transphobia. Which gender pronoun would you prefer I use for you, btw?

Wednesday, 29-Feb-12 16:09:37 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
    7. @leonkfox Aww, don't worry. Some day you'll feel better about. If it helps, cashiers aren't supposed to ask why you buy things, as it's none of their business.

    8. @stereosounds Sorry to hear about the deal with Asda (and I hope you don't mind me bringing it up again). Sounds like an "automatically unfair dismissal" to me as it relates to gender discrimination. If so, you would be legally entitled to a tribunal regardless of your length of service.
