Just watched Putting Your Hoof Down, I really didn't like it too much, a lot better than "May the Best Pet Win" and "Mysterious Mare Do Well" (especially the latter) but still not one of my favourites this season. It was OKAY, not terrible, but not great either in my opinion.

@leonkfox I think it was the best of the Merriwether Williams written episodes, but it definately wasn't the best Fluttershy episode.

@scribbs Oh not even close. It's not one of my least favourite episodes this season, but I won't be in a hurry to re-watch it I'm afraid.

@leonkfox I feel kind of disappointed, considering it didn't live up to the long wait, but, then again, it shows that Merriwether is getting into her stride after the bad start.

@scribbs What episode/s did she write before this one? I don't remember the vast majority of the writer's names besides Lauren Faust's ^^;

@leonkfox Only The Mysterious Mare Do Well and Hearth's Warming Eve. Cindy Marrow (I think) wrote the story to Putting Your Hoof Down, though

@leonkfox I'm exactly the same, The Mysterious Mare Do Well is my current least favourite episode for Season 2, while Hearth's Warming Eve, in my eyes, was very very good.

@scribbs The scenario just felt so... MANUFACTURED in Mysterious Mare Do Well, and to some small extent I had a similar problem with Putting your Hoof Down :S The background ponies are always mostly nice, yet every single one Fluttershy has to interact with besides Rarity and Pinkie just happen to be the appless in town every single time?

@leonkfox I found in The Mysterious Mare Do Well, that none of the mane six were particuarlly friendly, while that wasn't the case with Putting Your Hoof Down, hence why I much prefer it.

@scribbs I wouldn't have minded their scheme to bring Rainbow down a notch, some people just need that kind of a kick...generally AFTER their friends have tried to talk sense into them, and in MMDW that never happened. But I went into more detail about that in the link I posted earlier.
