@zimzap There's not much... nightmare pony, daedric sigil as a cutie mark, capable of shapeshifting into a normal pony, fire mane, tail, wings, etc. due to racial pyromancy. Wears a full plate armor while in nightmare form.

@zimzap according to Lauren Faust, the only two Alicorns in the FIM-iverse are Luna and Celestia, and for special reasons. making an alicorn OC would be like making a dual-scimitar-wielding drow-turned-good in a D&D game. You could reason it, but you're stealing the thunder of a character who is supposed to be unique. Or in alicorns' case, there are only ever two. MY opinion on the subject is that there is absolutely no reason to NEED an alicorn as your OC, and the gesture of haviing one lords over and stands to purposefully outshine other OC's. As a D&D vet of 17-18 years, there is no good enough story explanation as to why you need an alicorn as your OC, regardless of the laws of the FIM-iverse. The only exception to this rule imo is if you made your own pony-verse for an rpg, or imo it's okay for mods on forums and sites represent their modhood with an alicorn avatar.

@zimzap @greydragon412 had to look her up. Lauren Faust wasn't involved in making her an Alicorn, she was supposedly just a unicorn when she had her hand in it. Also, detail I left out for space purposes was one of the special reasons luna and Celestia were the only Alicorns - they are direct royalty in Equestria, so Princess Cadence makes sense. What I was saying before is that if peeps are making Alicorn OC's it ruins the point of Alicorns, because all these peeps will run around saying they're royalty too, or I'm-so-and-so's forgotten blood relation, or even making up one's own kingdom to make room for more Alicorns. The idea of wanting to take away such an exclusivity from two (not three until that episode airs!) characters in the show I suppose is an act in which many obviously see the issue plain as day and others won't see the problem at all. Also, Princess Cadence does not invalidate my entire argument since there's still no reason anyone NEEDS an alicorn OC in the FIM-iverse.

@greydragon412 wait you're basing why it's ok to muddle canon by OC creation.. with a fanfic? Also, what can an alicorn OC possibly represent that any normal pony OC fail to represent? This is why some people don't like them as I also previously mentioned (I make multiple points but you typically mention one thing then say it invalidates everything), that strutting around with an alicorn OC is a blatant way of saying you're better than others, ESPECIALLY if you say its purpose is to represent you. I'm done here though. it's like I said, some will get it and others will endlessly justify it.
