Ok so I recently got into Dr. Who and after watching 3 episodes can somepony fill me in on the Dr. Who lore??

@rhetoricalpony haha =D there aren't enough characters in a hundred posts for that. Best bet is to go to a wiki, or watch the 9th, 10th and 11th Doctors, since they are pretty much self-contained

@techdisk42 well @rhetoricalpony was just inquiring about the lore. There's a little too much history to go into, so I was saying that the three new doctors are the best bet for newcomers

@trister yeah. The 9,10,11 are good to start with. 10 is best. 9 was pretty cool, but he left too quick for me to start liking him. 11 is ok.

@techdisk42 I haven't seen much of Matt Smith, but he is pretty unique. I liked Eccleston, but Tennant was my favourite too

@techdisk42 my old Uni friends said I was doing a Tennant when I turned up in a suit and converse one day. we had a moot in my Law class, so I had to wear a suit, but I didn't want to wear my proper shoes because I walk to Uni and they suck for long walks, so I changed into them just before the moot

@rhetoricalpony err.. that would be Matt Smith... I think... I haven't seen many of his episodes, but it's a pretty cool series, and I don't think it links in with the others all that much. I would go back to the first series of the newer ones to get the whole story, but the fifth series is a fine place to jump in to, there isn't likely to be any problems unless River Song shows up... but then even I'm not sure about her and I've seen every ep with her in I think... they have history in the future or something. other than that all you need to know is Cybermen are bad and Daleks are worse

@rhetoricalpony nope, he's a time lord, the race was destroyed in a war with the Daleks leaving only him and the Master left I believe. The Daleks were supposedly wiped out too but they keep coming back. The war is time locked so that no-one can travel back to it.

@rhetoricalpony timelords have a way of cheating death through regeneration. Unfourtunately, they completely change looks and personality in the process. Also, tennant is extremely funny. EXTREMELY.
