1. @purplephish20 Will Green Day live up to the hype, though? I like everything about them before American Idiot...

1. @stecissunrise I honestly think american idiot was fecking amazing, they stretched the box. I havent listened to 21st at all, but I adore 21 guns

1. @purplephish20 Know Your Enemy, or something along those lines - it's in the 21st Century album - is great to listen to. Still I was mixed about their 'concept album' approach on those albums.

1. @stecissunrise I love bands trying new things, particularly along the prog/orchestral path. Which is why I now consider Nostradamus to be Priests best album.... not that the internet will agree with me

1. @purplephish20 Please tell me that at some point you've listened to Dream Theater

Thursday, 12-Apr-12 21:10:18 UTC from web
1. @ceruleanspark Your going to hate me for this... I saw them live..... I thought they were absolutely terrible... If that was just a bad show then so be it. If you have something GOOD of theirs to reccomend i'll gladly listen to it... but yeah.... one of the worst bands i've ever seen. they opened for ZZ top. who rocked

1. @purplephish20 Yeah, that isn't as good as the original song, but that seems to be the sound guys' fault.

Thursday, 12-Apr-12 21:27:49 UTC from web
1. @scribble @ceruleanspark really? Bad sound mix? well actually in some footage from journey playing earlier in the day theres no piano. so probably the sound guy screwed up throughout the day

Thursday, 12-Apr-12 21:29:14 UTC from web
1. @purplephish20 Wouldn't surprise me, if I'm honest

2. @purplephish20 Yeah. It's like half the band is missing. Try this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SSX86zPnUkY

1. @purplephish20 This is a pretty weird song. It's (part of) the true story of the drummers battle with alcoholism. In the form of ludicrous guitar work.

Thursday, 12-Apr-12 21:39:48 UTC from web
2. @purplephish20 Man, the audio balance here is totally messed up. I mean, this song isn't great to start with, but it sounds like the soundstage has been massively compressed and all the depth is missing.

3. @purplephish20 This is my personal favourite song from them, anyway; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5hDs6mCVAKs

3. @purplephish20 Haha. Reminds me when I saw Twisted Sister who opened up for Alice Cooper at Newcastle Metro Arena back in 2004, and enjoyed TS a lot.

4. @purplephish20 For Prog: "Metropolis Part 2 Scenes from a Memory", for Rock: "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence" For orchestral prog: "Octavarium"

1. @ceruleanspark @scribble really? yep.... absolutely terrible. I wanted it to just end. It was at the download festival 2009. so I'd been stood at the front for hours, Journey opened for dream theater. 5 minutes before the DONT STOP BELIEEEVING! craze took off. whitesnake were on after zz top, then Def leppard headlined.... magnificent

1. @purplephish20 Almost everything Dream Theater have done since 2003 has been pretty bad, to be honest.

5. @purplephish20 I'm going to be blunt and say that Metropolis Part 2: Scenes from a Memory is probably one of the best things I've ever listened to.

2. @purplephish20 Oh, that I agree. Even after as drastic a musical direction as Turbo was with the synthesisers and everything, they deserve all the praise to go through with it. ^^

1. @stecissunrise Reckless of turbo is a godlike song

3. @purplephish20 Try Coppelius or Van Canto, I doubt they have international fame but they do try something unusual. Both are more or less metal, though.
