         @noirbatch 13? so young and innocent; to imagine and feel this pony's excitement in waiting to turn 16 or even 18 is to an old man like me unfathomable. To see him jump to catch the top of the fence so he can pull his shorter form just high enough to see what's on the other side of adulthood, the way he forms in his own mind that which he sees and hears but does not understand, and the joy of worrying about frivolous things like what girls will think of him! Oh joyous youth, revel in thy glory! Drink from the victor's cup, flowing with the sweet nectar's embrace of ignorance! To have only crossed paths with fate the first, not knowing the other two steps of life's trip until he walks amongst those who will yet address him as sir!
