  1. Here's a pic of my friend with his saberstaff and some armor I ordered while deployed. It's supposed to be a replica of Cmdr Shep's armor, but I haven't gotten around to painting it or anything. http://i43.tinypic.com/kcie05.jpg My saber is a single sided one.

      1. @scorch Thanks! The only downside is one of the shoulders on the torso fell off during shipping and one of the kneepads got ripped off because my friend like, threw it in my room while I was out one night :/ Gotta get some heavy duty acrylic glue or something to fix those.

        1. @communistprime How does one look at awesome armor like that and just throw it in your room??? Man, people. lol

          1. @scorch That was part of the armor. My head is a bit too big, so it hurts when I take it off, plus it kinda kills your peripheral vision, but it looks cool!

            1. @communistprime Yeah I can imagine. That's really cool. For years now I've wanted to make this armor and helmet and everything http://www.hiddendragon.com/cpg/albums/userpics/10001/normal_Utapau_Airborne_Clone_Trooper_Parjai_Squad_-_01.jpg My favorite clone trooper.

                1. @wafers 212th Attack Battalion, 2nd Airborne. That particular soldier is a Parjai trooper. They are basically like HALO troopers in the military only they do like sub orbit altitude drops. Their helmets are designed to handle to air hitting them at incredibly fast speeds and still enable them to breathe. They have small jet packs for landing then they ditch them as soon as they touch down. They're a spec ops type of soldier so once they're on the ground, its on. ...star wars nerd here...

                    2. @communistprime The star wars universe made some strange turns with episode 1 while the Mass Effect universe was designet from scratch and could stay more plausible because of that. In addition, it is a universe you can actually explore.

                      1. @hakupony They're both awesome, I just prefer Mass Effect more. Star Wars is too mystical for me (barely mystical at all, but still) and I prefer the hard science of Mass Effect.

                        1. @communistprime That's another aspect. I just wanted to say that Star Wars lost some of it's charm when the Force was explained as microorganisms. Star Wars was great because there was something we could not understand. A movie can't bring you the joy of exploration so it is prudent to bring something the viewer can discover with the characters. But that's just my opinion :)

                          1. @hakupony It just gave me more to think of! Like...what if you harvest tons of lifeforms and extracted all their miniclorions and put them into a robot that could manipulate them? Force wielding robot >:D

                            2. @communistprime How would it impart will into them ? It's not like a mass effect field when all you need is an electrical impulse. There's some generic "stuff of life" that makes them go

                                2. @communistprime In the books there have been two somewhat analogous cases. In one case, a force user underwent a conciousness transfer into a ships computer, and then into another human body. Their force abilities did not survive the trip. In the second case, the mind of a force user was transferred into a droid. This also resulted in loss of force ability, though no effort was actually made to preserve it

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:35:54 UTC from web
                                  1. @ceruleanspark Yeah, but there was probably a loss of miniclorions (or however you spell it) in the first case and a total lack on the second. Talking about a completely MC blooded cyborg/android (with the MCs being in a life sustaining solution, of course). That may work out.

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:40:43 UTC from web
                          2. @hakupony yeah, the prequals really stirred things up. did you notice the constant DBZ style ramping up of power levels that went on in the star wars universe? it's gotten silly in some of the games and such that are coming out now

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:19:04 UTC from web
                            1. @trister Well, it does make sense that the power level decreases between ep 3 and 4. The Jedi Order was nearly eridicatet, Obi Wan grew old, Yoda grew ancient, Anakin became Vader who is little more then a living corpse and Luke was just a talented farmer boy without much training. It's not the power level that bugs me but the heavy emphasize on special effects. I've got nothing against special effects, but this emotionless sworddancing and scenes like the Pod racing part were... not the best idea.

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:25:32 UTC from web
                              1. @hakupony I can understand Obi Wan and Vader losing some power, and Luke not having much, but Yoda was almost 900 years old when he fought Palpatine and the two of them were flinging objects round like they were paper. then, only 20ish years later, yoda can just about move an x-wing slowly if he concentrates hard. then, in the expanded universe (if you want to count that) there's starkiller, an apprentice, who crashes a star destroyer using the force.

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:28:53 UTC from web
                                1. @trister blame Lucas.

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:30:29 UTC from web
                                2. @trister Starkiller is funny to play, but I don't take that serious. You could argue that Yoda kept himself very well in shape, but since all things fade, he could no longer keep up. Especially athletic people are not old for a long time. I give you that is kind of an excuse but I'll give some suspension of disbelieve if I at least can explain things.

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:32:42 UTC from web
                                  1. @hakupony oh yeah, starkiller is certainly fun to play as, it just falls on the wrong side of ridiculous sometimes. but then, any game where a lightsaber takes more than one hit to kill an enemy is already silly.

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:34:34 UTC from web
                                    1. @trister I wouldn't say that. Of course, it's unrealistic but I wouldn't say Knights of the old Republik 1 + 2 were silly.

                                      1. @hakupony oh, forgot about them. yeah, I have to make an exception for them... but force unleashed isn't an RPG, it's meant to be a lot more fast paced

                                        1. @trister Of course, I just wanted to say that not every game where you need more then one hit with a light saber to kill is silly.

              2. @scorch Oh hell yeah, I love Clone/Storm Trooper armor so much. We've got a Star Wars brigade around here somewhere...can't remember their name, but I've seen'em in Imp Officer and Scout Trooper armor all the time online.

                        1. @wafers Oh nice man! I really want a 212th figure or a Parjai soldier. Not Cody though. I don't like his helmet for some reason. To be honest though, if I were to make a Mk.II set-up, I'd stick to 212th colors. However if I ever had Mandalorian armor, it would be mostly orange with white and some blue stripes, and have one of the knee pads be grey.

                          1. @scorch Mandolorian armor is without a doubt the best in Star Wars. My preferred colors would be a dark metallic grey, with red and white details and a silver or gold visir

                              1. @scorch not really much significance besides looking like the mandolorian Grim Reaper.

Tuesday, 24-Apr-12 20:26:14 UTC from web
                                1. @wafers lol That's cool. I like the idea of a silver visor. My main color would be orange because it means a lust for life which is pretty much how I am. I don't know what white means, if anything, but it would go well with the orange. Slight blue stripes cuz blue means reliability. And only one knee pad be grey because grey means mourning a lost love which in my case would be my ex girlfriend who I wanted to get back with but instead caused my a ton of drama and depression last fall and winter. Only on one knee pad though because it doesn't need to be any greater than that. I'd put in a hint of vengeance too by having the other knee pad be gold.
