   Cadence really didn't have to be an alicorn. She could easily have been a unicorn and the story would have been relatively the same. But Hasbro had to make a pink alicorn to cover up for the pink Celestia toy.

      @scootabrew Cadance was apparently originally designed as a unicorn, but was changed sometime after Faust left the show. It's on her DA somewhere.
