@gryps75 @kuro I don't think aliases work across federation yet (and it would not be simple to make them work though it would be nice).
-
@mk That has been discussed more than once. Has some connection to new qvitter if I'm not mistaken. What do you say @Mcscx @erkanyilmaz?
-
@kuro @mk if you can't sub to the !tea group on Quitter it's probably b/c there was a !tea group on identica and instances resolve to this
-
@mk you should be able to sub to the Quitter !tea group after removing the _identica_ !tea group from your instance's db @erkanyilmaz @kuro
-
deleting the identi.ca group in the DB here didn't help, it actually resulted then for a http 500
-
hmm,I've been able to join (& leave) the !tea group from opensim-chat\.eu. I suspected the reason to be the old identica group unknown there
-
well, I actually "only" deleted the identi.ca group from table user_group. probably there's some more internal reference to that group/table which needs more investigation.
-
I've just created a group !teatest on Quitter. If you, @mk & @lg can join this one, the problems w/ !tea must be related to its name
-
works (I also appear as member on that remote group)
-
... and left group again (no need to be sub'd to test groups)
-
I once could reproduce subscription probs on RDN& noticed by mouse-hovering: it resolved the 'problem groups' to identica during the process
-
yes, I saw also before editing the DB how the q group link linked to identi.ca. Otoh: I remember @larjona joining 2 groups with same name (debian) or we have also 2 SN groups (1) (2) and people joining one of them can't join the other?
-
e.g. I see @bobjonkman is member of both SN groups, so perhaps something because identi.ca group doesn't exist/resolve anymore and Sn having prob with that ?
-
this can actually be tested: @lg@micro.fragdev.com 's instance is gone and then re-creating one of his old (1) groups somewhere and see if people can join that new group. (1) http://federation.skilledtests.com/List_of_federated_Statusnet_groups.html
-
if it works: it's another thing like: something wrong at quitter, something wrong at the SN instance where the user can't sub to that new group
-
re-created the !ignore group here
-
now, let's see... if a user from fragdev or another SN can join this group
-
-
-
-
good point! But there must be a bug in SN code. I've pasted the real new group URL but the instance still continues w/ identica group from db
-

@mcscx joined - ends with the usual white screen (known bug) but no (other) error message! /cc @lg @erkanyilmaz
-
@mcscx good thinking! :)
-
@mcscx tbh I never was aware of any existing !tea group so that didin't occur to me :(
-
tbh I didn't know of an identica tea group either, I was just guessing. Identica had groups for almost everything...
-
@mcscx I guess I wasn't aware of people discussing tea and not yet interested as much in tea as I am now :) (just a little over a month to the anniversary of my start of being totally coffee-less)
