@snowcone Factories should only hire freerunners.

"Do you sometimes have an urge to jump over things?"...Man, yeah. Yeah. Like constantly, ESPECIALLY in social situations.
-
@snowcone Yes. It's extremely thorough.
-
@snowcone tests like that are usually redundantly thorough, to get the most accurate result. Like, if it asks the same question 5 different ways, and you somehow answer them differently, it would average it out.

@snowcone This one isn't like that. It's not a personality test like they use for a job interview. Most of the questions are different, though I do notice that one appears, with the exact same wording, twice. 'Might just be a mistake.
-
@snowcone Yeah, that happens. I have failed one and passed another, but I only passed the second one because I asked for some help from a friend who'd passed it before...They only implemented the test long after I got hired there the first time.
-
@snowcone And I have GREAT DIFFICULTY passing one because I can't see things as black and white as the company wants me to see them.
-
@snowcone Huh?
-
@snowcone Trust me, it's not possible for me to see things that way. Ever. It's just who I am.
-
@snowcone Personality test for getting hired at a job? You have to give them all the designated "right answers" that they're looking for in new recruits or else you won't get the job interview. It's horrible.
-
@snowcone 'Problem being that I'm ...quite unable to bend my mind to figure out what the hell they want me to say. They tell you "just be as honest as you can" so that they can easily pick through the answers. Everyone knows you have to lie to pass them.
-
@snowcone It's as worthless as it is stupid and it doesn't size up a potential applicant at ANY job worth a !%$#.
-
@snowcone That's a personal pet peeve of mine...and most "good" jobs administer them now.
-
@snowcone But that's what the personal interview is for!!!!!1111 I mean, you gotta sit down with the person and ask them the relevant questions, you know. THAT is what determines if the person gets hired. Not some bullcrap "personality test" that has only one right answer for each question and is administered long before your resume can even be submitted.
-
@snowcone That's not what it is, though. You'd just have to try one out sometime. The answers are fivefold and they range from "Strongly Disagree - Disagree - Neutral - Agree - Strongly Agree" and they present work-related situations and ask you what you would do in those situations. They TELL YOU to be "honest" about it...and many of the things that people would be "honest" about, regardless of how correct the action is from a social or respectful standpoint, are simply not what the company is looking for. They want you to already know their policies and standards long before you get hired in, and have a very rigid view of discipline and duty based on what *their* rules are set out to accomplish inside the company. That's why you'll see this test at a lot of call centers...They all (bank, phone, whatever) have similar structures and management, and therefore similar job expectations. Oh, and if you answer ANYTHING other than "Strongly ______", that also ruins your chances of "passing"
