  1. @ghostdancer Now all I need is for the USB connection from Android to my Linux machine to work again - it seems my latest exploits for fstab to make auto-mounting external drives easier has actually DISabled connecting an Android phone - both are unsuccessful at making a connection :(

    1. @mk I WAS able to connect the new phone to my Windows computer and move the first photos from the internal memory to the external SD card. And QuickPic now properly sees them all in one folder. That's at least a *little* progress. # #

    2. You can also transfer files via WIFI by using GhostCommander + FTP or Samba plugin. I've never been using USB with my androids.

      1. @mcscx I've always connected successfully my old phone, both to Windows and Linux, and teh new phone connects to Windows, too. It just stopped working on Linux since (I think since) I edited my fstab to make mounting (other) external USB drives easier. :( I'm sure I've misunderstood something doing that (though it works flawlessly for three external HDs) - as if dynamic connecting/mounting is now disabled

        1. if it's only an automount problem you should still be able to mount manually. Is your android volume listed when you do fdisk -l ?

      2. @mcscx I'm not sure I understand how that works - my "main" computers do not use WiFi at all
