doing some nice yak shaving here: want to control permissions (for my banking app, at least), want to install XPrivacy, which asks 'did you do a full backup?' so I do backups, also install Nandroid (ROOT version), which wants Busybox. Now running a Nandroid backup to external SD card... :D

@mk (continued) From Online Nandroid I installed Nandroid Manager which didn't work so I uninstalled it. Ran XPrivacy installer again, which let me download and then install Xposed Installer, after which I need to reboot (and presumably then *run* Xposed Installer)... what #fun #yakshaving

@mk (Continued) "There seems to be a known issue ("Aliyun OS") with your ROM. Installing XPosed might not work or lead to severe problems. (...)" - nice. #notfun #yakshaving

@mk ...and the online information for that specifically mentions my phone. #notgoingthere! :(

@mk (Continued) So, that excludes using XPosed and hence XPrivacy on my phone - first time I run into any incompatibility with it. I'll have to find a good replacement for XPrivacy (which seemed ideal) :( #notfun #yakshaving #incompatibilities

@mk had a brainwave: I had installed Nandroid Manager from within Nandroid - maybe that was the problem? Sure enough, reinstalling it directly from Play store works. That's something at least! #yakshaving
