@nerthos I was onboard with Apple until a year after Jobs died. Forget the software complaints, the hardware is terrible now. Jobs was an asshole and OCD, but you know he fought the board when they were like "WHY DON'T YOU USE CHEAPER PARTS". I don't think Cook does this.
If you are going to use cheaper hardware, lower the damn prices. The failure rate is way up, and people aren't buying them. The Q1 just came out. I think Cook means well, but he isn't Steve.
My industry needs to get its head out of its ass, because all this closed platform mango is going to be a huge issue for their infrastructure if company heads don't start to change out of this "apple macbook" culture of 'cool'. https://kiwiposter.club/attachment/59861-
@rw That's my issue with it. In the 90s they had superior performane and functions to PC in most areas, and were unmatched in the graphic industry. Nowadays the price is through the roof, but the performance doesn't match, they're basically consoles due to all the restrictive closed hardware, and you can't even add ram to them. Not to mention turning the brand into a "low tier rich kid" badge. And even when an individual wants to get into the industry without using that hardware, he or she is forced to by the rest.
