    Whatsapp will share phone numbers with facebook to map profile. This will be used to show targeted ads in facebook, though not whatsapp itself. Also whatsapp *claims* that encryption will prevent facebook from reading messages.

    This was always in the cards. By this, whatsapp claims of preserving users privacy is even more hollow now.
