@why it feels like it happened overnight. i never drank or anything and then like out of nowhere everybody drank and smoked and i barely go out with anybody where we dont do that. it's weird and even feels a bit scummy. i miss not being aware of crime everywhere

@delores That's the point where the weak people get into drugs to "fit" and the decent people end up with only two or three friends who are also decent. The moment drugs became somewhat socially acceptable was the moment decent people lost the ability of having extensive groups of friends.

@nerthos i dabble in drugs but i try to stay sober so i know whats really important. that on top of all my old friends becoming unreliable made my last year of hs feel very uncanny valley. all my friends i relied on for a social life started to do their own papaya and all conversation just became "remember when we did drugs". never felt lonelier

@delores By the last year of highschool I mostly stopped hanging out with my highschool friends as some of them started getting in politics and other crap, and got an independent group of friends to hang out with outside of it. Only still talk with one guy from highschool. Never got drunk, high, and only smoked one cigarette to try it and it wasn't that good.

@maxmustermann @nerthos it's very flip-floppy. i'd be with one group of people where everybody was smoking weed/cigs and batcaveing around and doing crime, and then a few days later i'd be with people who were sober and just having a good time. and half the time the people would overlap like they were like 2 different people. it felt like the world was constantly changing around me and i could never keep a constant. and it's still that way.

@delores @nerthos I know that situation and I say that i comes with the territory. I was lucky to have a good time with two groups of Stoners who weren't assholes during my time in Apprentice home. The third one who were nothing but assholes, trashed the room that was my first one like the junkies who were and in the end, they all got mangoed and thrown out. Don't rely on drugs for happiness.
