  1. anyone with a dog know why my doggo randomly whines? he doesnt have to potty bc ive taken him out like minutes before and when he comes back 20 mins later he whines and just looks at me
im not sure if it could be his leg because he doesnt put weight on it but he never whined about it before
it started after we left him home alone yesterday p much all day, do you think its because hes scared of us leaving him alone again?

    2. @rohan it could just be boredom. if he was recently removed from his mother i would take it as a good sign because its confiding in you and not just weeping.
dog whining is very contextual from what i've dealt with

    3. @rohan Dogs are pack animals. When a member of their "pack" they consider important isn't around for a while, they start whining and eventually howling. They miss the other members of their "family". It happens with my dad's dogs when the females are moved to another house during heat, the males feel alone and whine.

      1. @nerthos DE listens in when we are gone and hes mostly quiet and whines now and then )probably because he had to pee)
he is very much a velcro dog to me, so im thinking hes just scared of being alone again (sux2b him cos this is gonna be ongoing)

        1. @rohan Then yeah, he simply feels alone and whines because of it. Happens when you have a single dog and it stays inside the house without company. Unless you live in an apartment without a yard, I'd recommend letting him out to the yard so he can get some company from neighbors' dogs. If it's an apartment, the only solutions are getting a second dog (which is more expensive and can cause a lot of mayhem inside the house as they play unsupervised), not leaving the house alone, or just ignoring it.

          1. @nerthos He tolerates other dogs but isn't a big fan of them.
He snapped and nipped at my friends dog b/c he was jealous we were playing fetch with him.
We might be getting his parents dog next year sometime so maybe he will be OK until then

            1. @rohan If you ignore the whining long enough, it'll stop.
