  1. I'm 99% sure that people won't care at all if they are interacting with a human or an AI in the future.

    1. @lambadalambda The need to be observed and understood was once satisfied by God. Now we can implement the same functionality with data-mining algorithms.

    2. @lambadalambda there are already examples for that: bank cashiers und railwaystation ticket sellers have been (partly) replaced by machines and the customers choose the human (if there is one) or the machine just depending on "what's the fastest way to get the ticket". They don't prefer the human.
OK, that's not exactly AI, but similar.

      1. @mcscx2 I mean in the more general case, even for love / companionship.

        1. @lambadalambda in that case I think most people still _will_ care. I don't think a person would leave their loving girlfriend because they believe an AI girlfriend loves them even more. At least that would be a bit stupid.

          1. @mcscx2 i think exactly that will be the case.

            1. @lambadalambda ok, some people will choose the AI companion. This might lead to a further step of progression of # — AI companions will probably be sold and controlled ("updated") by large global oligopolist corporations. Also governments may ask the corporations to make their # convince their humans that they must vote for some party or join the army, etc.
