@purplephish20 Honestly, for the most part that's because it innovated so much; most of what was special about it is just basic hallmarks of the genre now. The story's still pretty neat, but the gameplay is no longer special in a post-HL world.

@purplephish20 Oh yeah, it's not _bad_. It's just comparatively mediocre (in gameplay; like I said, the story's aged much better) when modern games have already learned from everything it did well.

@bitshift I wouldn't really say it's mediocre, per se. Its age definitely shows, and it doesn't do anything special by today's standards, though it's still a pretty good game. I blast through it from time to time, I can only really think of one or two parts that bug me.
