  1. The funniest part is that all those articles pointed to a human problem, not a cat problem. Most of the (non-pest) critter killing is caused by feral cats, which would be solved if people were just more responsible regarding cats and didn't abandon them to fend off for themselves. Having had a bunch of cats throughout my life I can say by experience that a well fed cat won't catch more than a few birds a year, and that's only the most playful cats. Lazier cats will generally ignore birds if not hungry. As for rodents there's good reason to get rid of them.
