  1. With 280 garrisoned troops almost entirely composed of fully upgraded soldiers, I wonder if an NPC army would be able to take my capital at all #

    1. @nerthos I could, but I guess I'm not a NPC :P

      1. @maiyannah Well yeah a player always can manage. I can take them out just with my character and the heros in my party. NPCs however raise armies of recruits and mostly try to swarm, and against a castle with a chokepoint manned by knights they won't get too far like that.

        1. @nerthos TBH I usually just camp outside and snipe all the archers.  Then the AI tends to rush down the ladder and you can easily pick them off as they try to close the distance.

          * Doesn't work with seige tower castles obvs

          1. @maiyannah Well my capital is a siege tower one. If the AI was competent I'd consider moving from Shariz to Durrin castle due to it being built on top of a rock and the ladder being set on a side that requires walking around it and climbing a cliffside first.
My method mostly involves ordering troops to stay back, climbing alone to unplug the hole with an axe, killing some archers so the troops can advance, and then ordering the troops in. I rely a lot on the HUGE armor I have, 59 - 79 - 63 which means only lords, couched lance and javelins can do more than a dent. If I stay on the ladder/tower while cutting up a path I'm covered from javelins, can evade/block, and of course there's no horses up there.
