No, It's worse than that! I'm talking degradation by diminishing the reputation of newcomer domains so that mail sent from them becomes more likely to be flagged as #spam. And it's not the type of spam that ends up in the user's spam folder; it's the one that doesn't even make it through the filter, might as well not even have been sent!
