              1. @crusader8 not everyone but usually just COD. I mean some others at least add stuff (that usually doesnt help at all ) but makes it interesting over just "point, click, and shoot".

                1. @wiipon3 point, click and shoot with little context to differntiate which game you left in your console? Sounds like every fps

                    1. @wiipon3 the first-person game design is cool but is wasted on overly-commercialized military shooters which the industry shoves onto the shelf each and every tuesday to make a quick buck. Portal and Mirror's Edge attempt to offer alternative experiences to inspire other game designers, but the industry is just so damn comfortable with the paychecks and royalties that come from each Tom Clancy's Call of Battlefield knockoff or one-man army variant with tacked-on multiplayer

                      2. @crusader8 Bioshock was good, too. It did not revolutionise the gameplay but it used nice ways to change the setting.

                        1. @hakupony bioshock broke the mold of the invicible badass protagonist archetype. I loved the conveyed desperation when you forcibly stuck the first eve hypo into your arm. The action transcended all the motives and goals of the character, and it set the tone of survival. He didn't do it to get an edge in saving anyone or to feel stronger or anything else

                          1. @crusader8 Also, you basically had the most awesome setting ever. Rapture is extremely interesting - not only as a take that against objectivism, but also about what Tomas Hobbes wrote and about why it is good to stay in touch with people who live differently as we do.
