    1. @wiipon3 Aww, and I hoped for philosophy xD

      1. @hakupony well we can do philosophy but the philosophical implications of malfunctioning programs usually can only imply the inferior abilities of the infastructure that manifested its existence in the first place, or maybe its a direct analogy of the process in which it is created via the means of the labor of collectively flawed minds. But yeah its kinda hard to get much philosophy other than that. :3

        1. @wiipon3 Or maybe about the complexity of language even the best programs still not get - basically, even stupid humans understand what words you want to tell them but a computer always does such errors. It could be that the thinking of computers is strictly logical while the thinking of humans is associative. When we take into consideration that we still need human scientists, then why do we emphasize the need for strictly logical thinking? Why don't we all try to be more like Pinkie Pie instead and educate our children to be like Pinkie Pie?

          1. @hakupony Logic provides stepping stones for us to cling to to allow us the ability to "associate" and to "relate" to things in our world yet sadly that knowledge is nothing more than Misplaced nomenclature on things that otherwise could have existed had they not been named so (i.e. green could have been purple and orange could have been red but we didnt name them that so thats why they are what they are as of now) Without something to allow us to cling to we wouldnt be able to base furtherment of any of our knowledge, or give proper reason for "discovery". Yet the inherent danger is the misinterpretation of this information and the miscarrige of it to the ears of those that need to know, that eventually causes such conflicts in the world. War, political indifference, breakups, simple arguments, and hell even "trolls" all result from that. #!

            1. @wiipon3 Concerning to this matter, there is a little misconception. Basically, we have a triangle of perception, thought and language. Basically, when we use the word "blue" we can relate to many visual sensations. The thing I was talking about is the fact that our mind can work with the fact that I can say that Lunas fur is blue and rainbow dashs fur is blue without saying that they have the same fur colour. Our mind can work in pure logic (it invented it after all) but it can also work in associations and these associations form our capability to "work" with our enviroment since the problems we face are not presented in a clear way. We have to deal with the complexities of communication and with the fact that we never could know all informations. This aspect of ours can not be done by computers, so we should be as capable as possible to do it ourselves. So we do need more randomness and insanity.

                1. @wiipon3 I'd say I took the valid point you made and used it to prove mine :D Was a nice experience to think like that in another language - and trying to tell in fancy language why we should have ponies :D

                    1. @crusader8 The philosophy of orks is valid too. "You make good point. Me me hit you with axe to win argument by surviving."

                        1. @crusader8 Nope, but I am interested in the setting. It's just too expensie for me.

                          1. @hakupony Almost all of my stuff is purchased second-hand from people switching armies or just getting out of the game. My warbikes purchase was from an online store that sells it by the bits or out of the box so that it can qualify as used product to save customers $$

                          2. @hakupony you can start out like how I did: just buy a couple models that you like then build and paint them.

                            1. @crusader8 Nah - I'd rather get deeper into LARPing again or start another Pen&Paper RPG.

                                1. @crusader8 I am appreciating the thought, but I don't think I'd be into it. I played Warhammer (the fantasy one) wit the army of a friend once - and wasn't that happy with it. I would have prefered movement with hex fields (because the constant measuring got on my nerves) and less randomness. It is way too much a luck based game for my taste. Even in Pen&Paper RPGs, I tend to work out situations to get arount randomness :D

Sunday, 22-Jul-12 18:10:39 UTC from web
                                  1. @hakupony can't argue with valid points! When making my army, I pay points for better weapons to do away with the luck part. Twin-linked guns cost more but let me re-roll to hit, flamethrowers are templates so they auto-hit, and powerklaws only fail to kill something on a 1. For some reason it costs the ork army fewer points to eliminate the luck factor than it does for other armies. You should still paint some models to display though. Gaming is only half the battle!
