  1. @hobbsc I'm using quitter (se) and I can't find a 'remote follow' button button anywhere. Any hints?

    1. @hobbsc this is the first aspect of UX that needs to be fixed if we want Jane Average to leave the walled gardens for the #

      1. @hobbsc is there a group that works on improving the # across the #? If so I'd be keen to join it. If not maybe there could be?

        1. @strypey @hobbsc The problem isn't that much that people don't know what to improve (everybody knows remote following kinda sucks), but more that there's nobody willing to actually implement things.

          1. @lambadalambda @hobbsc sure, and I'm guessing they're busy putting out a billion back-end fires, which no doubt seem like higher priority ;)

            1. @lambadalambda @hobbsc but I've found 'thing x sucks, fix it' is less helpful than # nerds offer specific advice, even visual mock-ups

              1. @lambadalambda @hobbsc also getting user feedback on suggested changes/ mock-ups, and refining them before presenting them to devs.

                1. @lambadalambda @hobbsc basically, doing everything except actually code it. This is especially good when improving UX across many platforms

                2. @strypey @hobbsc That's very true! Would be nice to have more UX people working on fediverse stuff.

As an aside, I am working on a new frontend for GS at https://gitgud.io/lambadalambda/pleroma-fe and we do need UX help.

      2. @strypey i'm not so sure i want folks piling onto the !fediverse but UX would help that process.  mastodon seems to have a slick enough UI to draw some less technically inclined folks.  the free software and gnu branding isn't helping us at all.  there's a serious stigma around the fsf and gnu projects.
