      Black is a description of a positive balance on a company's financial statements. A company would be said to be "in the black" if it is profitable or, more specifically, if the company produces positive earnings afteraccounting for all expenses.

      But I guess that's racist or culturally unacceptable for you as well.

      I prefer Access Control List and blocklist / passlist or other mutations such as allowlist or acceptlist. They seem to be more specific language in terms of intention, and don't depend on a learned language convention.

      There's another connotation that might be more relevant to the concept of reputation: urbandictionary.com/define.php

      Seems to originate out of an old voting practice involving black and white balls. Fascinating history.
