  1. @maiyannah are instances running # listed at fediverse. org? If so, what would come up under "version"?

    1. @strypey Yes!  Not all of them are on there.  Look for version numbers ending in -dev, those'll be postActiv.  The popularish node I'm aware of that isn't my own is social.heldscal.la

      1. @maiyannah can you think of a "secondary source" for that information? Still duking it out with that # on # ;)

        1. @strypey You could cite the main/version page of the nodes.  There's actually probably going to be a few talks at FOSS events that will involve postActiv in the future (people have contacted me looking for presskits and information) but those haven't happened yet to be able to cite them.

          1. @strypey (I wonder if that notice is sufficient citation?)

            1. @maiyannah I suspect the # would write it off as a "primary source". He's really making me do my due diligence though, so kudos

              1. @strypey It's why the thing exists.  postActiv is mentioned in Robek's article about the history of the federation, but not the fact you're trying to source.

                1. @maiyannah @strypey I can update it to fit the agenda?

                  1. @rw @strypey Well I'm all for more writing about postActiv which isn't my own, but rewriting the existing article seems silly.

                    1. @maiyannah and wouldn't help because that piece by @rw has already been added to the article as a reference then remove by the #

                      1. @strypey @maiyannah which article and which wiki entry?

                        Sunday, 09-Apr-17 20:12:56 UTC from shitposter.club
                        1. @rw your one on # and Mastodon (software) on # Reference may have been put back in. I may have started an edit war :0

                          1. @strypey The new article by me is better than the one from January. We aren't a blog either. I love edit wars! Thanks Danyl

                          2. @strypey Lol at this talk section. I think R.W is as reliable as Motherboard Vice and that's sourced

                            1. @rw @strypey my bowel movements are more reliable than these sites and let me tell you

                            2. @rw ae, like I said on the Talk page, the "tech press" and the "blogosphere" are getting hard to tell apart all the time.

                              1. @strypey I liked that bit

                              2. @rw when it comes to this issue, the blogs are often more accurate, maybe due to being written by people like us who know stuff first-hand

                                1. @strypey What's the official definition of a blog vs a publication? ooc

                                  Sunday, 09-Apr-17 20:51:55 UTC from shitposter.club
                                  1. @rw I think a publication says things you agree with and a blog says things you don't? Who knows how these people's minds work

                                    Sunday, 09-Apr-17 20:53:30 UTC from quitter.se
                                    1. @strypey hahaha

                                      Sunday, 09-Apr-17 20:54:08 UTC from shitposter.club
                2. @maiyannah I know! It's maddening. The # won't accept blogs as sources. Not "reliable" enough

                  Sunday, 09-Apr-17 20:10:30 UTC from quitter.se
                  1. @strypey And yet a blog was enough of a source to keep Mastodon - Robek's Mastodon article was the citation.  Haha.  Some people, though.  They just don't want to admit defeat.  Well, when the FOSS talks happen I can link you those if you'd like.  Not sure what else I can offer at the immediate moment.
