@mono So, here's how I'm going to implement it and I don't really give a mango what anybody says. If you add a do a post and want to content-warn, write thus:
hey everybody: #CW (stuff past here is hidden by the css because on the backend it gets wrapped in a tag)-
@moonman That's similar to RDN's spoiler, blacking out any post with a spoilers tag, just more advanced.

@nerthos yeah basically number one concern is graceful fallback on clients that don't support it. they'll just show the tag, and anybody that wants to filter CWs can do it by filtering on the tag. not specific enough? then

@moonman That works fine. IMO only issue is it'll just make SPC timeline look super pathetic if people start writing posts with "warning: tag tag tag" regularly, but that's not a technical issue.

@cyberpotato @nerthos thats whats sort of funny, we can laugh about the CW, but then beg people to NSFW when really the problem is the way CW was done imo. I prefer people tag traps but its a personal preference, NSFW tagging is the only rule on this.

@moonman @nerthos One's a common courtesy though, the other is potentially straying into way too much effort to protect somebody's feels.
I think most of us used boards where it was at least sensible to spoiler the lewds, if not for other people then to avoid getting a ban from the MODS=FrankerZS.-

@moonman NSFW tagging makes sense if just so you can actually browse the site outside your room. It doesn't matter if the text on a post says "I kinda want an icecream" or "I'm not racist but I think we should gas all jews", from a distance people can't tell and mostly won't bother checking what it says, but a pic of boobs regardless of how small will instantly brand you as "that pervert" to every onlooker

@nerthos yeah a difference is that nsfw partitions the network in two clean parts while CWs are for every individual whiny nut as well as broadly recognized categories of PTSD sufferers
