    1. @csaurus it's the first time I've been part of a scheduled chat in the # It actually worked pretty well.

      1. @strypey Indeed, I'm not sure about other interfaces but on Qvitter conversations are generally fairly easy to follow though sometimes pieces from Mastodon go missing. I'm still not clear on whether this is a Mastodon the software problem or whether it's because that's how OStatus works and there are just a ton of new nodes in the fediverse now.

        P.S. NZ is gorgeous, I'm jealous :)

        1. @csaurus yup, I'm using a # site too, threading is pretty good. @gargron said there's a bug in # federation with #

          1. @csaurus I'm guessing there's a sweet spot between everyone on one overloaded instance (eg the old #)...

            1. @csaurus ...and everyone on their own instance, which I imagine would create a huge amount of federation overhead for each instance

              1. @strypey Probably, but I'm not sure. True that each instance would have to communicate with more places over the net, but there'd be fewer people doing activity on any particular node

      2. @csaurus was maybe a smoother experience for all those on the # Mastodon instance?

        1. @strypey Possibly
