        @strypey In # URL path aliases (if used) are like a file name. A node ID is like referencing a file by hard disk block/sector. No good if you migrate your file to another drive, or your site to another CMS or non-trivial # upgrade.

        @strypey # UUID module was intended as a fix for D2D migration purposes. Not sure of its current status. (Recovering web developer. It has been 3 years since my last web site. One day at a time.) https://www.drupal.org/project/uuid

          @mjd permalinks independent of hosting setup (incl. CMS) are a Good Thing TM. More important and realistic for group projects though.
